Tropical Storm Ketsana, known locally as Bagyong Ondoy, left the country in a flooded state that even areas not known to be flood prone was also virtually impassable by terrain vehicles due to rise of water. Map shows the current areas affected by the flood which seems to be almost the entirety of Luzon. This should be a wake up call for the government for their careless and apathetic handling of illegal logging concessions in the 4% remaining forest in the Philippines. Not to mention the minding and quarrying activities happening all over the country without thinking the risk it may bring to the Philippines and its inhabitants. With almost every forest here in the Philippines already slashed and burn, the people have to suffer the consequences. at those consequences that I’m talking about is captured by the lenses of Cameras. Pictures don’t lie and sometimes scenes like this is an impending warning of what lies a head that could be far worse than today’s ordeal. Look and listen to the cry of the angry mother nature. I woke up today realizing that the tropical storm Ondoy have left devastating effects on Luzon. My Sister called me up and checking us out because the news in the US is not good. Another one of my blog friends emailed us asking for prayers because one of her aunt in Marikina was stuck in the rooftop for 18 hours and still no rescuers have picked them up. Later today, Pagasa reported that the rain which dropped yesterday was 16 inches in length. Whatever it means, its just saying that more rain water poured down during the storm. So I went to my photo subscription and lo and behold to what I saw, I did not expect that the flood was so widespread. Here in our area we didn’t experience flood since we are protected by the mighty and still forested Mount Banahaw. Thats why I had no idea that the flood was worse. I never bothered checking the news since I was busy tweaking my blog (how self absorbed and autistic am I huh?). Anyway, here are some pics which I posted on my other blog.
