After the bitch-slapping exchange of words between Ping and Jinggoy had temporarily subsided, it seems that the issue in the controversial ABS-CBN newsroom is taking its peak in terms of virulity. It is not even about may the “best man win” anymore but the pending question is who among the cat would survive the clawing? And you thought catfights are only for whores, bitches and feisty prostitutes? well think again because the world has evolved and the methodology of cat fights changed overnight into digital.

The latest buzz, if you don’t know yet is that Korina Sanchez, a senior correspondent in ABS CBN public affairs and RG Cruz, an unknown and virtually unpopular in the news world mostly cemeos for ANC are now the centers of a claw to claw duel. I am really not sure if this report is true but it has been posted on Inquirer.net and I think they would not publish it if it weren’t true.

So in searching for truth, one must first find the root of the cause… Inquirer.net reported and some blogs confirmed this that it was RG’s blind item tirades against a first lady wannabe in his facebook account that started everything.

I checked RG’s account and I can’t find the said tirade against Korina. Maybe he already deleted the said article or maybe some high and mighty from the network deemed that it would be best if RG would remove the said article. So what was in the article that created the fuss? Eye witnesses and mostly RG and Korina’s mutual friends in facebook said that RG wrote a blind item against a woman whom he described as “First Lady wannabe …who would eventually be a bad spouse…a queen in her head without a crown… ”.

I guess it’s a no-brainer even for a six year old since just recently, Korina publicly lamented her sentiments against the withdrawal of Mar from the Presidential race even going further as to engage herself into a cold war with Sharon Cuneta in defense of Kiko Pangilinnan who Korina called as “ingrate and a UP bum”. This blind-item statement of RG allegedly irked Korina after her tattler peeps who are pretending to be concerned friends but for all we know are just rumormongers and sowers of chaos, told Korina of the said note published on RG’s facebook.

Korina immediately wrote an open letter, distributed it inside the company and urged the management to take action. I have no idea if this said letter was really written by Korina because I always read her column in Philippine star and comparing the writing styles, this letter has been far worse and too flowery for Korina’s usual writing style. But a certain attorney vouches for the letter’s authenticity and said that a very reliable source confirmed that it was indeed that of Korina’s. To read the said open letter, you may click here.

The said letter centers and singles out RG Cruz who I said again and again is virtually in the shadows in terms of popularity in the mainstream media. I Think Reporter Sol Aragones is more popular than this guy. Anyhow, I read the open letter from start to finish and all I can say is that it was full of claws. Too bad RG had to delete his own tirade against Korina because we may not have any idea how strong the words he used against the lady broadcaster. But nevertheless, one thing is for sure: It is definitely a cat fight.

I hate to say this but I think both of them lack professional ethics in dealing with their repressed anger to each other.

RG should have not written those words, even if it was unnamed or was considered as a blind item, rumor mongers doesn’t have to be rocket scientist to be able to figure out the “first lady wannabe bit”. And to top it off, no matter how one is free in publicly saying his or her opinion, you just don’t attack anyone behind his or her back, much more, your colleagues. It’s not only cowardice, it’s also a manifestation of repressed feelings typical of those traitors who cannot fight a fair game so they uses dirty tactics and stab you on the back to render you injured and weak. But sorry for this guy, he did not stabbed brutus nor ceasar on the back, but he actually poked Judas herself haha. No matter how bitchy and demonic Korina may sound and look, and no matter how she allegedly beats maids and servers, you just don’t pull down on the leg any colleague. It’s unprofessional. It doesn’t give anybody the justification to attack anyone on the basis of monstrous attitude and behavior. Though I personally agree with what RG wrote on his FB which pertains to Korina, but he has no license to assassinate her character just because she hated her, worst, publicly, and for all their co-workers to read.

On the other hand, Korina has been sensitive lately obviosly because of the sudden withdrawal of Mar Roxas from the race and we all know that the reason why many people are also disgusted with her is because she has a tendency to be one-sided and touchy. Just recently before this cat fight, Korina slams Kiko Pangilinan, Conrado de Quiros and others who supported Noynoy even going to the point of blaming them for the decision of his beau. What Mar decided is of his own and not as a result of other’s pressure. Blaming others for the ruin of her dreams which is totally due to his boyfriend’s decision is very unreasonable. And now Korina, becoming so touchy as to even circulate a letter just to condemn RG and in the process humiliate the guy in the same plane just to have an equal footing is in my own opinion to low considering her status in the company. Koring could have just settled this matter privately with the management. Though like what she says that its a form of nobility to respond in courage, yet in the eyes of the people, the future subjects of our postponed highness, is just but an unrpofessional and a petty issue which she could have just timely answered in this period of history wherein everybody is being scrutinized, in and out of the blogosphere. If Korina can’t stand the heat inflamed by her own colleague, how much more of the impending inferno that awaits her once she is crowned as the new “First Lady”?

As of this writing, some blogs claim that RG is suspended and that a final decision from the management awaits him. Yet we still don’t know the real score. If you happen not to see the guy in ANC or in TV anymore, best guess is, he’s been already fired by the powers that be.

We just wish that all will end well between Korina and RG, after all, they are not called “Kapamilya” for nothing. If they can’t settle this issue in peace, well the public is ready to ask them to duke it out on a mud wrestling match haha. Peace!
